Work experience
Sep/03 - present: Linguistic consultant for language projects of SIL International in Northern Tanzania.
Apr/04 + Nov/04: Head teacher at the workshops in grammatical analysis for ten Bantu languages in Mbeya, Tanzania. Duties included developing a curriculum and lectures in Swahili, teaching and supervising workshop participants in analyzing their mother tongues, developing a template for publishing the workshop results in Swahili, and guiding the participants in writing grammar sketches.
Oct/96 - May/06: Linguistic advisor for the Rangi literacy and translation project, Kondoa District, Tanzania. Duties included the description of the Rangi language (phonology, morpho-syntax, lexicography and discourse analysis) and training Tanzanians in linguistic analysis and translation principles.
